Dear
Prayer-Partners, HAITI TRIP DELAYED AGAIN! Ruby had contracted a skin infection on our last trip to Haiti and we were not aware of it. It was there but we did not think it was anything to be concerned about. In the last several weeks we became more and more concerned and we started seeking medical advice. We thank the Lord for leading us to a doctor who seems to know exactly what to do for her condition. She is receiving treatment but has to wait two weeks to make sure it is cleared up before we go. We would appreciate your continued prayers for her. We also thank the Lord for the first delay with the travel papers. Had it not been for that delay we would have been gone to Haiti when the infection broke out worse. The Lord knew and it was a Romans 8:28 situation for us! RECENT TRAVELS The schedule for August and September has been extra busy in traveling to churches and sharing with the Lord’s people about Haiti Bible Mission. We have recently been in several churches in Arkansas as well as in Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana, North Dakota and South Dakota. What a joy to share our ministry and what a blessing that many are taking a real interest in the Haiti work. It is also a great blessing to me that my sweetheart enjoys traveling and ministering as much as I do! FAMILY MEMORIAL Our family suffered a shock when my first cousin, Deanna McGrail, was killed in a car accident in California. With the help of our loving family, Ruby and I made quick changes in our travel plans and flew to California. I had the privilege of preaching the message and Deanna left this testimony…she loved her Lord and she loved her family! Please remember the family in prayer during these days. A memorial fund for Deanna has been established through Haiti Bible Mission. Memorial gifts may be sent to the same address as other support. We are going to give a little more time and then decide which mission project we will do in her memory. PROJECTS…PROJECTS…PROJECTS!!! We have five churches waiting for sponsors (one has had $1000 donated and we intend to start as soon as we arrive in Haiti). We have three houses waiting to be finished…four waiting to be built…and one almost finished as our home church has taken on the project of building a house for preacher Osner…praise the Lord! A big project we have not said much about….we have been just praying but many have been asking us to share about this. The Lord has led us to buy some land…the price is $15,000 and we lack $5,000 for that stage. Then, we will need, we estimate, $35,000 to build the rest of the mission complex. That will include a wall in front and fence around the property, a small house for a Haitian family to live and provide security, a garage for the truck, a storage depot for building supplies, and a house with an extra apartment and guest rooms for mission groups. This is a big project…but the Lord is able. We will proceed only as He directs and provides. We are so thankful for the many who have helped with school supplies as well as clothing and shoes for Haiti. We also need support for teachers as well as repair to the schools. We need some to be burdened for the medical fund…providing money needed for medical treatment. We need guitars, keyboards, bicycles (we are can buy them there or ship them over). We also are in need of $2000 to finish the orphanage. This incident with Ruby’s infection has made us more aware than ever how important it is for us to have medical insurance. We have found a place where we can get a high deductible plan for $175 per month. Please pray with us about this need. SUPPORT HAITI BIBLE MISSION WITH PHONE & INTERNET??? This is great news!!! There is a communications company…AFFINITY4…that will donate 10% of any customers monthly bill to a ministry of their choice. Their rates for long distance and internet are very competitive. You can check them out by calling 1-800-800-7550 or at www.affinity4.com. If you choose to sign up with them and name Haiti Bible Mission as your ministry of choice they will send us a check each month for 10% of your bill. We are receiving a little support this way already and it could become a big contributing source if several are led to do this. MISSION GROUPS We have two mission groups coming in February. You can hook up with another group or organize one yourself. Now is the time to plan for next year’s mission trip! FAMILY Matthew left today for Mississippi for further Army National Guard training. He will get two weeks off for Christmas and then go to Iraq. Please pray for him and his address is: PVT Matthew Stockeland, HHC 1-133, 2490 25th Street, Camp Shelby, MS 39407-1000. Mark and Lacey are both working in Ft Myers, FL and are ministering to the youth of their church. Luke and Anne are moving to Green Forest, AR and Luke is coming on staff of Beth’El Baptist Church as director of youth ministry and evangelism. For now they will be living at our house and may be reached there starting October 21. John is attending Bible college and working in Chicago. We appreciate all of you so much. May the Lord bless you richly! In Christ our Savior, Dave & Ruby
