Dear
Prayer-Partners,
“I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever; with my mouth will I make
known Thy faithfulness to all generations” (Psalm 89:1).
WE
ARE STILL IN THE STATES
Ruby
had surgery on September 17th and had 1/3 of her colon removed.
There was no malignancy, for which we praise the Lord. We had made several
attempts to find out what was causing her pain and finally a doctor ordered
a colonoscopy. The results showed a mass 10 cm long that needed to be
removed. The surgeon said he got it all and after recovery she should be
fine. He called it pre-cancerous, but that if we had waited much longer it
surely would have turned to cancer. The Lord is so good! Thank you so much
to all of you who were supporting her in prayer. Ruby says a big thank you
as well for all the cards, flowers, phone calls and food (I think they all
realized she would do better on their cooking and on mine!). Please
continue to pray for a good recovery. She still has a fair amount of pain,
but is getting better.
We expect that we will have to remain
here until the first of the year to give her time to heal and gain her
strength back.
PREACHERS, TEACHERS & FOOD
Even
though we are here in the states we are able to see some ministries carried
on in Haiti. Another missionary couple in
our city of
Jeremie have
allowed us to send money to their mission account and then they give the
support to our school principal. He then goes out in the country and
distributes the money as instructed by us. This way we are able to support
the preachers, pay the teachers and take care of the school lunch program as
well. We thank the Lord for the help of our good friends that makes this
possible.
PRAY FOR SHIPPING
We
have a truckload of supplies for Haiti that have
been sitting in the warehouse for over a year. Please pray that ALL those
supplies will be shipped soon!!! We also have another 20 trunks packed for
shipping and we were told they could not take any more. Please pray that
the Lord will make a way for these supplies to reach our Haitian people!
