Dear
Prayer-Partners,
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL IN THE NAME OF OUR WONDERFUL LORD AND SAVIOR, JESUS
CHRIST!!! Isaiah 9:6 tells us He is wonderful, counselor, mighty God,
Prince of peace. May we all share His love and message of joy this holiday
season.
ANNUAL
CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE
Every year I challenge folks about how we demonstrate the importance of our
Lord's birthday. I think it is wrong that our government is taking Christ
out of Christmas and prohibiting free expression of His message during the
holidays. However, I also think it is wrong for so many Christians to
celebrate the birthday of our Lord by giving gifts to everybody but Him!
Would we think of celebrating our best friend's birthday by giving gifts to
others and not to our friend...I think not. Here is the challenge: Years
ago I started keeping track of all I spent on Christmas, gifts, tree,
decorations etc. Then I wrote a check for the same amount to the work of
the Lord. If you take this challenge it will do two things. First, it will
help you keep the attention on the Lord at Christmas. Second, it will help
you keep your Christmas spending down when you now you have to double it.
God bless you as you celebrate.
WE HAVE
MOVED
We are now residents of McMinnville, Tennessee. We arrived here on Friday,
November 30 and are busy trying to get flooring in and things arranged. We
feel like we are camping out in our house right now. We spent a week here
tearing off wallpaper, cleaning, painting and general preparations for our
move. Our new address is: 1285 Miriah Dr, McMinnville, TN 37110. Our cell
phone is the same and we can still be reached by e-mail.
Here in
McMinnville we are one day closer to Miami for travel to Haiti. We also get
to make use of the Nashville airport. We can fly from Nashville to Miami,
to Port au Prince, to Jeremie all in one day. It will also be easier for
family and friends to visit us by driving or flying. We are already
enjoying that benefit as Dave's folks are flying from ND to celebrate
Christmas with us and Ruby's brother and sister-in-law are flying in for a
week as well. We invite any of you who travel on I-24 to stop by and visit!
Special
note: All support will continue to be handled by our home church in Green
Forest, AR. We do not expect to have a change in that until some time next
summer.
TRAVEL
SCHEDULE
Ruby has been recovering nicely and we thank the Lord for that. We plan on
returning to Haiti the first week of January. We have much to do and we
would appreciate your prayers for the Lord's strength and help.
SPECIAL
PRAISE
While we were traveling here last week, I was driving the rental truck and
Ruby was following me with our van and small trailer. For some reason the
hitch jack came loose from the trailer and, when it hit the pavement, it
caused the trailer to jump off the hitch. Ruby was stranded on a bridge
where there was no shoulder. This was a very scary situation. The highway
patrol was a big help and they said it was a miracle she wasn't hit by a
truck. The next day while we were still enroute to TN, a dear lady friend
called to see if we were ok. She said the evening before she was watching
TV and the Lord impressed on her heart to shut the TV off and pray for us.
We both cried as we knew that a the prayers of a faithful friend were
answered in sparing Ruby's life. THANK YOU, LORD!!!
God bless
you all,
Dave &
Ruby
