November 2025 Updates
Moto Madness 2025 didn’t unfold the way we had planned, but we know God is still good! Our team traveled to Cap-Haïtien as scheduled, fully aware that Tropical Storm Melissa was on the way. We hoped the storm would pass quickly so we could continue on to Les Cayes and run Moto Madness just one day behind schedule, but God had other plans. When the storm lingered, we stayed in Cap-Haïtien for several days and used this time to pray for those being severely affected by Melissa and also build relationships and be a witness to the people we encountered there. Eventually, half of our team had to return to the States, while a few others traveled on to Jérémie. Even though our original plans changed, we still saw God move in incredible ways. We were able to serve, encourage, and bring hope to people in need- demonstrating God’s love through practical action.
One of the biggest blessings of Moto Madness was being able to raise funds for six motorcycles! Because our trip was cut short, we were able to give away three motorcycles while we were there, but three more will given soon!
One Moto went to the new mayor of Jérémie, who works tirelessly for the city but had been relying on taxis to get to his office. This gift was a huge encouragement and practical help.
The second went to Donné, a gifted guitarist who has been faithfully serving in our churches for a long time. He is a hardworking man and owns a small business at his house, but he doesn’t have a way to go and buy what he needs to sell. He also works downtown as a mechanic and walks every day from his home to his job. Because he has served in our churches for many years, we thought it would be a big blessing to give him a motorcycle to help him and his family.
The third went to one of Jérémie’s best carpenters, Ronald. He is a hardworking carpenter and a loving father. He always does his best to provide for his family and help others when he can. He has worked with HBM for many years and his character and integrity stand out in the community.
Beyond moto's, our team also helped T-Papa, one of our zone leaders, start a small cold drink business to support his family. We were able to build two new shelters for families in need- the first was in Corail, for Guilène and her family of five, who had been living in very poor conditions. We’re also helping her start a small business so she can better provide for her children. The second shelter was built in Versailles for a couple who will be getting married soon. We built a new shelter for them, giving them a safe place, hope, and a fresh start for their family.
Our team also painted tables and benches at the Community Hope Center, giving the space a bright, refreshed look.
We spent time with ten kids from Haiti’s Heroes, one who was very sick and nearly lost her life due to a lack of oxygen—but by God’s grace, we were able to help her in time.
Though Moto Madness 2025 looked different than we envisioned, it was still overflowing with hope, love, and purpose. This experience reminded us of the power of serving together and how God can use even small acts of kindness to bring life and blessing to others. Above all, we were reminded to trust God’s plan, even when it doesn’t match our own.
