This is a very special weekend for us at Haiti Bible Mission. This Friday and Saturday is the first annual "Hanover Loves Haiti" event in Hanover, PA. Hanover Loves Haiti is a community effort of local businesses and organizations in partnership with HBM to help raise awareness and support of our mission in western Haiti. Providence Community Church has been the Stockeland's home church for the last few years and along with other local organizations are sponsoring the events surrounding this weekend. Visit hanoverloveshaiti.com to find our more and if you're near southeastern Pennsylvania this weekend we'd love to have you out for this event. Check out the Facebook event here.
While the Carlsons and Stockelands have headed back to the states for a time of rest and to continue fundraising efforts things are still going strong back at the HBM compound in Jeremie. Our Director of Haitian Ministries Eldet Tine took a few of the staff down to Cayes on the southern coast of Haiti for supplies which are flown in by Agape Flights. The next day the same group of staff served at the hospital giving out food and water and also helping people pay for medicine.
Marc Donald is one of our newest leaders at HBM and along with heading up the ministry at the hospital he also leads small group discipleship for our church plant in downtown Jeremie. For those who are aware of the orphanage near "pig beach" we have been able to help move some of the children into a new host homes. We have been working along side Impact195 from the Rock Church in San Diego to help staff the new homes and provide the care needed for these kids.
On Sunday at our downtown Jeremie church plant three people prayed to receive Christ. Thank you for partnering with us in seeing these fruits of ministry come to life. Eric Pierre, our Director of Leadership Development leads a weekly group of men and women who are next generation of leaders in Haiti. We're very encouraged to see all these efforts made while the "full-time" staff is back in the states. It's a great joy for us to see the work of HBM come to life as the team gains more and more passion to see change come to the city of Jeremie. We're also grateful for this time for rest and the chance to prepare for what will be a busy fall and winter.
