Community Hope Center
Bringing Hope
For the past 16 years, Haiti Bible Mission has been dedicated to developing leaders who transform their communities, creating a lasting impact for generations. We strive to bring the hope of the gospel, opportunities, and education to young leaders with a passion for Christ, so they can give back to their communities.
HBM is thrilled to announce a new opportunity to expand our goals and impact more lives through the Community Hope Center (CHC) in Jeremie. This site, with its four buildings, has been entrusted to HBM by community leaders, and we have big plans to use this space to positively impact Jeremie with the gospel and education. We plan to establish a school for local children, a church, and a leadership development training center. This is one of HBM's biggest projects, divided into three phases. We are grateful that a team of dedicated volunteers recently came to Haiti to help us begin working on our plans!
Phase One
Security - Power - School
The initial steps of this project involve securing the site's perimeter with a barrier to deter vandalism and safeguard students and visitors to the CHC. As you can see from the photos, we've made great progress and aim to finish the fence by the end of August! With guidance from a team of US experts, we've installed solar panels to power the buildings and trained our Haitian team in their maintenance. These steps are vital to our goal of starting school in September. Our US team, along with the Haitian staff, built benches and desks, preparing for classes to begin next month, and we're on track to achieve our Phase One goals!
We are currently fundraising for Phase Two, which is $55,000. The main objective for this phase is to establish a leadership training facility with classrooms for emerging leaders and spaces to train for various jobs and skills and hold bible studies, as well as renovate the church. A church in this area will be a huge blessing to the community. Please consider joining us in support and come visit us in Jeremie to help with the project!
PRAY
Our Director of Leadership Development, Pascal, was in a moto accident years ago that broke his right arm in five places. He didn't receive proper treatment afterward and has been living with pain and limited use of his arm ever since. He recently had the opportunity to go to Cuba for surgery to try to improve his function. Please pray for his healing and for him to make a full recovery.
