August 2026: Nou Lakay Ou
Nou Lakay Ou means “We come to you.” The heart of this ministry at HBM is to put Matthew 25:40 into practice. It reminds us what it truly means to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
Last week, we had the privilege of visiting Joseph and his family of eight. The joy and surprise on their faces when we arrived is something we will never forget. Moments like these remind us that sometimes the greatest gift is simply showing up with love.
Together, we brought food and hygiene supplies, swept the home, washed dishes and clothes, prepared a meal, cleaned the yard, and spent time laughing, dancing, and sharing life together. While these acts of service brought relief and encouragement, the most meaningful moment was opening God’s Word and sharing the hope of the Gospel.
We want every family we visit to know this truth: our Heavenly Father never leaves His children. Even in difficult seasons, His love is constant, His presence is faithful, and His hope never fails.
Thank you to everyone who makes ministries like Nou Lakay Ou possible. Because of your prayers and support, families across Jérémie are experiencing the love of Christ in tangible ways.
Welcome Kara!
We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Kara to the HBM team. She has been working for us for a few months now, but we wanted to introduce her to all of you. Kara is serving as our Director of Donor Engagement.
Kara came to Haiti Bible Mission through her church, a longtime mission partner of HBM, but Haiti claimed a piece of her heart long before that. Over seven years of traveling to Haiti, and five years living and working there, she found a second family, a husband, and a calling she couldn't shake.
She joined the HBM team in April 2026, bringing with her 15+ years of nonprofit fundraising, communications, events, and strategic planning experience; and a passion for helping people and organizations get focused on their vision and run hard after it.
Kara believes everyone has a purpose worth connecting to, and she will cheer you toward yours with the kind of relentless encouragement that makes you wonder if she ever sleeps. (She does, but only after a proper car karaoke session. She has never met a beat she didn't like, and her commute knows it.)
We absolutely love Kara and know that she will be a blessing to our supporters and to HBM. The joy of the Lord radiates from her and we are honored to have her on our team.
