Sepember 2026: Back to School!
Back to School | Rantre Lekol (rahn-tray leh-cole)
Jeremie has a different rhythm when school is in session. Salty ocean air mingles with the smell of locally roasted coffee. The thump of mortar and pestle keeps time beneath the zip of motos and the sizzle of breakfast patties in weathered aluminum pots.
And down the street come the children: necks freshly powdered against heat bumps, shoes shined, ribbons and barrettes matched to school colors. They walk with purpose toward a place that holds hope, not just for one child, but for a whole family.
Parents sacrifice to send their kids in crisp uniforms, but a uniform can't fill a notebook. Some 124 students at the Community Hope Center's School also need backpacks, notebooks, pencils, and rulers to learn. Because of partners who support Community Hope Center, each child started this year with backpacks filled with supplies, and covered in prayer!
From life-saving medicine to life-changing education, from tending the land to tending souls, God's power is on display in the lives of individuals, families, and communities in and around Jeremie, Haiti. Thanks to partners like you, we get to co-labor with Him and share a glimpse of the everyday miracles happening across HBM's ministries.
Marie spent most of her life seeing only shapes. Friends, family, and the community she loved were shadows and outlines, with no toothy grins or kind eyes.
Then friends from Providence Church prayed for God to restore her sight. In His perfect timing, Marie opened her eyes and saw loving eyes looking back at her.
"I see you! I see you!" she cried.
Later, we showed her a photo of herself. She studied it closely and said words none of us will forget: "I see me."
God is still working, still moving, still performing miracles right here in Jeremie.

FOOD AND FELLOWSHIP
Because of you, we get to share food and fellowship with children in Versailles, face to face, plate by plate. We come to play and to share a meal. Somehow, the children always give us more joy than we brought.
HBM has served 57,640 meals to children in Versailles so far this year.
